Vose-Barred Owl in Snow

A Barred Owl perches on a dead tree during a New England snow storm. The Barred Owl (Strix varia) is a large owl native to North America. It is best known as the Hoot Owl based on its call. The most common mnemonic for remembering the call is "Who cooks for you, who cooks for you all."<br />
